T H E  5  C O M P L E X I O N  A X E S

At its simplest, your complexion can be described as some variation of brown. The 5 Complexion Axes are the different aspects of the colouration within your skin that make your brown completely unique to you.

D E P T H 

Your Depth axis charts how dark or fair the brown of your skin is - it is dependent on the concentration of melanin (a dark brown pigment) in your skin.

U N D E R T O N E

Your Undertone axis charts the dominant colours beneath the 'brown' in your skin. you may have heard People refer to red, yellow, pink and blue undertones.

C H R O M A​​

Your Chroma axis charts the concentration level of each of the composite colours within your skin. ​You can think of it as the strength or richness of the colours.

T E M P E R A T U R E

Your Temperature axis charts the degree to which the colours in your skin are warm or cool.​

O V E R L A Y 

Your Overlay axis charts the biochemical elements in your skin that add translucent layers of colour to your complexion.
